Welcome to First Baptist Church
Jean Pearson produced a remarkable print entitled, 'Giving Back...Going Forward.' The pen and ink was produced eight years before the renovation project was initiated. There is in the foreground of the print two images blended together side-by-side. To the lower right is an older oak tree that is defoliated and obviously dying with its ancient branches reaching heavenward. Alongside it and around the dying tree is a beautiful blossoming oak tree that is full and healthy. It was apparent that the older oak on the corner would soon be removed to make room for the younger tree to grow. Thus Jean, during a communion service, was given the name for the print, 'Giving Back...Going Forward.' As the old tree was giving back, the newer tree was going forward. This has been the theme of our giving campaign for over three years. We are offering signed and numbered copies of this matted print for a contribution of $100.00 per copy. There will be 250 of these prints produced. If you choose to purchase a print, you must complete an application and enclose a check. All proceeds beyond the cost of production of the print will be toward retiring the debt on the renovation.
