Dear Members and Friends of First Baptist Church of Selma
As our country, state, and community continue to respond at a rapid pace to the information regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19), many of our members are part of the vulnerable population, and we want to demonstrate our care and concern for them, as well as the rest of our community.
Here are the steps we are taking at this time:
- We will continue to gather for worship for the foreseeable future. If you are a part of the segment of the population most vulnerable to contracting COVID-19 and face the most difficulty in recovering once diagnosed please remain safely away from our gatherings to protect your health. You can worship with us on WALX-FM 100.9 Sundays from 10:45 to 11:45. You can also access us at www.fbcselma.org as well as (334) 877-4400. Though gathering for worship will continue to be a week-to-week decision, we will follow guidance from our local health officials.
- Homebound and hospital visitation by the ministerial staff will continue.
- Staff will continue working as needed to maintain important ministry, mission, and communication.
Because our faith calls us into relationship, this moment can make us vulnerable. Social distancing may remind us that we are made for embracing and all of those physical enactments of friendship, love, and care. As we observe protocols recommended by health experts, we will need, more than ever, not to allow social distancing to manifest into social isolation. Pick up the phone. Email, text, message one another; chat rooms, write a note….
We will continue to monitor the situation as it unfolds and keep you updated.
Yours in Christ,
